Looking back on some great comments from the past as I’m finally developing this work. “Ewww….Slow down the grossness”-Sparks “It’s not gross enough” -Barry
As I’m adding more to the Little Tragedies Series, I’m thinking of expanding the works to include Strange Encounters and a few Violent Lullabies. Here is what I have so far:
As part of my ongoing series of the deconstructed still life, today I made a valentine special. Cheap cordial cherry chocolates in liquid are both seductive and repulsive.
Working on a series of food mascots with artist/gastronaut/and seven time Guinness World Record holder – Bob Blumer!!! Comfort and nostalgia. More delicious work to come.
New compositions using the same bodies. “The grotesque body…is a body in the act of becoming. It is never finished, never completed, it is continually built, created, and builds and creates another body.” – Bakhtin
New work on the Restless Still Life: The grotesque image “always represents a state of change…the one consistent visual attribute of the grotesque is that of flux”. -Connelly
