These web pages are formatted for viewing on Internet Explorer 6.0 (or later versions) using a maximized window on an 1024 x 768 screen (or larger) set at millions of colors (or equivalent).  The scale below should appear as 10 different and distinct solid shades in the upper band and a smooth gradient in the lower band.   The first box in the upper band should be bright white and the last dark black (the letter "F" should not appear, or should barely appear, in these two boxes).  Finally, the shades in the scale should be a warm-grey (cool-brown).  Other browser/settings combinations may work, but may not display the pages as intended.
